Question 1

How often should an HVAC system be serviced?

Accepted Answer

An HVAC system should be serviced once a year at a minimum, and in New Orleans treat that as a floor rather than a target. A long cooling season at high humidity puts more hours on a system than a milder climate would.

Question 2

What happens during a tune-up?

Accepted Answer

We inspect and test the system, check that the ductwork is properly sealed, and confirm the unit is running as it should before we leave. Anything found is explained with both options where there are two.

Question 3

When is the best time to book?

Accepted Answer

The best time to book is before the season that will test the system: spring for air conditioning, fall for heating. A fault found then is a repair you schedule rather than a failure you did not choose.

Question 4

Does maintenance stop breakdowns completely?

Accepted Answer

No, maintenance does not stop breakdowns completely, and anyone promising that is overselling it. What it does is find degrading components early, which moves most failures out of the week you can least afford one.

Question 5

Will servicing lower my power bill?

Accepted Answer

We will not promise a figure, because what servicing means for your bill depends on the fault. A system running as designed does the job it was sized for, while one running with a fault works harder for a worse result, so we would rather show you the problem.

Question 6

Should the ductwork be part of the visit?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the ducts should be part of the visit. The ductwork decides how much of what the unit produces reaches the room, so checking the unit alone can miss where the comfort is actually going.

Question 7

Do you service heating as well as cooling?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we service heating as well as cooling: air conditioning, furnaces, heat pumps and ductless systems, on residential and commercial equipment alike. One visit can cover both sides of the system.

Question 8

How do I book a service visit?

Accepted Answer

Call 504-285-5606 or request a free estimate through the site. Tell us your preferred time and what the system is doing. Estimates are free on all services, and there is no obligation to book.
