This notice explains the rights you have over your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation, and how to use them. It applies to visitors in the European Union and the United Kingdom, and we will honour these requests from anyone who makes one.
It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes in full what is collected here and which third-party services are involved. This page is about your rights and how to exercise them.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Big Easy HVAC is the controller of personal data collected through bigeasyhvac.com. We are a heating and air conditioning contractor based in New Orleans, LA, working across the New Orleans metro.
2. What we collect and why
The short version. The detail, including every third-party service and its own privacy policy, is in our Privacy Policy.
- What you send us. When you complete a form or call us, we receive what you provide, which is typically your name, phone number, email address, the address of the property and a description of the problem.
- How the site is used. Analytics and advertising services record pages viewed and similar technical information through cookies.
3. Our lawful basis for using it
- To answer your enquiry and quote for work. Steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and then the performance of that contract.
- To run and improve the site. Our legitimate interest in a site that works and in understanding which pages are useful.
- Analytics and advertising cookies. Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Records we are required to keep. Compliance with a legal obligation.
4. Your rights
You can ask us to do any of the following.
- Access. Get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification. Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erasure. Delete your data where we have no continuing reason to keep it.
- Restriction. Pause our use of it while a question about it is resolved.
- Portability. Receive the data you gave us in a portable format, or have it sent onward.
- Objection. Object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
- Withdraw consent. Where we rely on consent, withdraw it without affecting anything done beforehand.
- Automated decisions. We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone.
Using any of these rights is free, and it will not affect the service you receive from us.
5. How to make a request
Call 504-285-5606 during business hours, or send a message through our contact page saying which right you want to use.
We may need to confirm who you are before we act, so that data is not disclosed to the wrong person. We reply as soon as we can, and within one month.
6. How long data is kept
Enquiry and customer records are kept for as long as we need them to answer you, carry out the work, and meet the record-keeping we are required to do. After that they are deleted. Analytics and advertising data is held for the period set by the service concerned, which is named in our Privacy Policy.
7. Where your data goes
We are based in the United States, and the services described in our Privacy Policy, including the form, analytics and advertising providers, are US-based. Data you submit is therefore processed in the United States. Each of those providers publishes its own safeguards for transfers out of the EU and the UK, and we have linked to their policies rather than summarising them.
8. Cookies
Cookies used here are listed in our Privacy Policy, together with the opt-out link for each advertising service. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may stop working normally if you do.
9. Complaints
If something about how we handle your data is wrong, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority, and using this page does not take that right away.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
